Laser Skin Resurfacing removes the top layers of skin to improve fine wrinkles in the skin and give skin a freshened smooth appearance. The skin is actually tightened by shrinking collegen in the skin. Laser skin resurfacing can be performed on small areas of skin or on the entire face. It works well on sun damaged skin and helps to make skin surface and pigment more even.
Laser cannot tighten skin the same as a Facelift and isn’t meant to replace one but can give a refreshed look without have to make incisions.
Dermabrasion works better for the areas around the mouth and for resurfacing scars.
Chemical Peels can are use much like laser resurfacing but use chemical agents instead of light to remove the skins top layers. Peels can be light or deep. Light peels can be done in the office without anesthesia with less down time but don’t produce as lasting of a result. Deeper peels may require anesthesia.
